As September is my anniversary month, I thought I’d post the lino print which adorned the front of our wedding invitation. It was an ambitious project, because I wanted to represent the city we were getting married in – even Oxford would have been easier than Prague. Considerably less spires.
It takes a lot of patience to do a lino print. And quite a lot of coffee. Once you’ve got past the first head scratching post where you try to figure out what your print will look like backwards (as the final result will be a mirror image of what you are cutting out), you then have to contend with which colour to print first and how to slice out the relevant bits without taking some portions of finger out too. I cheated a bit here by only using two colours, one much darker than the other, but the slicing was challenging. Apologies to Prague, it is considerably less wonky.
